About Barns of HOPE

A Scholarship Program for the Trades

Education doesn’t have to be a one-size-fits-all experience. And that’s a very good thing.

For many students, a four-year institution isn’t going to help them succeed in the industries they love. Trade schools offer an alternative for preparing for a successful future, and many of us in the construction industry are beneficiaries of that option.

That’s why Prism Builds LLC has established Barns of HOPE (Helping Other People Everyday), a scholarship program for students in Elbert County, Colorado, to help fund their trade education.

For every barn (wood or steel) we build, a portion of the profits go to one high school student that year who plans on attending a trade school in the construction industry after high school graduation.

Bryce Gave Back, And So Will We

Bryce was a great kid, and like many who grow up in small towns who aren’t college bound, Bryce found it difficult to envision another path for his life. Even though he loved construction and working in our family business, he felt lost, and he eventually took his own life.

Bryce was only a teenager when he left us. We all went to our own dark places, but the strength of family and community helped us find our way out.

Even in his short life, Bryce had already given back to his community. And we decided to carry on that legacy.

We’ve established the Barns of HOPE scholarship program in Bryce’s memory to help high school students construct their own futures of hope.

How to Apply

Who is the scholarship for?

Any high school student in Elbert County, Colorado, who plans on attending a trade school in the construction industry after graduation is eligible for a Barns of HOPE scholarship.

How to apply:

Write a short, personal letter sharing with us why you’re applying for a Barns of HOPE scholarship and which trade you plan to pursue.
Include your contact information with your letter (name, email address and high school name).
Email your letter to us at Barns of HOPE by May 1, 2026

How to Donate

There are two ways to donate to the Barns of HOPE scholarship program. While Barns of HOPE is primarily run and funded by Prism Builds, we are excited that our annual revenue doesn’t limit how much we can give back to our community!

1. Donate directly to Barns of HOPE

We are a registered 501(c)(3), and cash donations are 100% tax deductible. Give today using our secure, online payment system.

2. Become a Barns of HOPE Partner

They will donate 1% of the profits from every barn they sell in September to align with National Suicide Prevention Awareness Week.
